Murali Mohan was termed to be a slow starter in the Telugu Film Industry between 1975 and 1985, but now he is a Film actor, producer and a businessman.
Murali Mohan Maganti popularly known as Murali Mohan was born on June 24, 1940 to Maganti Madhava Rao an Indian freedom fighter, he did his schooling in Eluru, started his own business dealing in electrical motors and oil engines.
As he was very passionate about films Murali Mohan developed acting as hobby and performed on stage dramas & theatre in Vijayawada.
Murali Mohan’s debut film “Jagame Maya” (1973) produced by Poornachandra Rao Atluri received a positive response, but he had to struggle for break in movies.Then famous director Narayana Rao Dasari cast Murali Mohan in the film “Tirupati” (1974), this made him to cast in 40 more films which lead to 400 films in his career.
Before retiring from films in lead roles Murali Mohan appeared as the first person to act in Television serials from the Telugu film industry.
Murali Mohan formed his own production company ‘Jayabheri arts’ with his brother Kishore , his debut film as producer was “Varala Abbay” directed by the noted filmmaker K. Balachander was Murali Mohan’s 100th film and produced about 25 films.
Murali Mohan raised as one of the biggest real estate developers not only in Hyderabad but also in the entire state with his Jayabheri group a well-known and trusted name in the real estate business. But stil likes to lead a simple life even his wife too follows him and is not interested in wearing expensive jewellery or buying the latest and expensive saris. Murali Mohan lives in a simple flat that belongs to his daughter and pays rent to her for staying in the flat.
After taking a break from films, Murali Mohan served in various positions in National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) and the regional Film Development Corporation (FDC) in Andhra Pradesh.He is the Honorary President of the Telugu Movie Artists Association and has also been an active member of the Telugu Desam Party.
Murali Mohan is a social activist with his ‘Murali MohanCharitable Trust” has adopted nearly 1000 students of Engineering & Medicine.and gave life to them.Though he is completely busy with his positions in off screen still seen in on screen in supporting roles.
